What do we need to bring?
I suggest you bring the following items:
- Appropriate seasonal clothing
- Rain suit
- Sunglasses (Polarized for sight fishing)
- Sun Screen
- Fishing Cap
- Favorite snacks and drinks: (the boat is equipped with an ice chest and I will provide ice)
- Minnesota Resident or Non Resident fishing License. Most area bait shops (Lundeens Rt 169 and Rt 27 )have licenses or can be ordered on line at www.dnr.state.mn.us
- Camera: (I will take digital pictures and will gladly email those to you)
- Optional: Maximum Two rods and reels per person spooled with fresh line. I recommend Berkley 8lb.Trilene fluorocarbon for spinning and 12 -14lb. Berkley Sensation for baitcasting.
What equipment will be provided?
- 20 foot Ranger Bass Boat powered by 200hp Evinrude
- Lowrance GPS/Sonar Units, utilizing LakeMaster Map Chips
- Rods, spinning and bait casting reels and a wide selection of quality lures.
- Cooler, ice and bottled drinking water.
Can you suggest a motel?
There are many places to stay on Mille Lacs. Some of the motels that my customers have had a good experiences with are Eddy's Resort and McQuoid's.
Can you handle group or corporate trips?
Absolutely, I work with several other top guides and can tailor a trip to fit your particular needs. Multi species trips (walleye, smallmouth and musky) are available.
Do you guide on any other lakes?
Yes, within an hour's drive of Mille Lacs there are some 30+ smaller lakes that offer great largemouth bass fishing opportunities. At times when Mille Lacs is unfishable, we will fish the smaller lakes when rescheduling is not possible.
Do you guide for any other species?
Unfortunately no, my area of specialization is Bass, smallmouth and largemouth. We often catch northern pike, walleye and Musky while fishing for Smallmouth. I would however, be happy to refer you to top guides that specialize catching toothy critters!
